The 2012 edition of Coast Guard Outlook Debuts at the Coast Guard Innovation Expo – “Steering the Course for Enduring Excellence” – being held Oct. 25-27, 2011, at the Tampa Bay Convention Center in Tampa, Fla.
Defense Media Network will be showcasing the 2012 edition of Coast Guard Outlook at the 2011 Coast Guard Innovation Expo. Now celebrating its 10th anniversary in print, this “state-of-the-service” report begins with a foreword from the commandant and is written by Coast Guard leadership, maritime specialists, and technology experts. Its continuing mission is to communicate current Coast Guard programs, multi-mission capabilities, maritime assets, and the service’s role in safeguarding the nation’s economic and national security.
Targeted at decision-makers throughout the defense and maritime industries via print and digital editions, Coast Guard Outlook informs policymakers on Capitol Hill on the current condition of the service, enabling them to make informed decisions that will profoundly affect the development of the Coast Guard.
The U.S. Coast Guard, headquartered in Washington, D.C., safeguards America’s complex maritime interests by protecting U.S. borders and ports, performing at-sea rescues, and enforcing environmental laws. As a responsive and adaptable armed service and law enforcement agency, the Coast Guard operates on U.S. rivers, ports, littorals, and on the high seas. The Coast Guard provides maritime security and safety and is an ever-present steward of the environment.
The Coast Guard Innovation Expo is sponsored by the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) with USCG participation coordinated by the Commandant’s Innovation Council (CIC). “The Expo creates a rich, focused environment for Coast Guard Innovators to resolve organizational challenges by showcasing their initiatives in a rich collaborative learning environment alongside other innovators throughout DHS [Department of Homeland Security] and across government, industry, and academia.”
During the Innovation Expo, all attendees can pick up a complimentary copy of Coast Guard Outlook by visiting Defense Media Network at booth 1243.
