Canadian Navy Centennial

In 2010, Canada’s navy celebrated its 100th anniversary, carrying the message Canadian Navy Centenary – Celebrating a National Institution to all Canadians. Many events took place throughout the year including two naval fleet reviews (east and west coasts). A happy coincidence was the state visit of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain who was able to attend the east coast fleet review.

The Canadian Maritime Command worked with Faircount to create a publication that would provide a comprehensive description of the navy’s role and mission, coupled with a concise history of the naval force. The resulting publication was released in the summer of 2010 for distribution at major commemorative events as well as being distributed throughout the navy to leadership and seamen.
